Its never ideal to lose exclusives, its even worse when youre a brand new console just bursting on the scene. Now with Rayman Legends and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge going multiplatform, and several other third-party games mostly backing the other consoles, its become hard to justify a Nintendo Wii U purchase.

"I wanted to love Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, but there are so many issues that muck up the game. Its good, but there is too much wrong to warrant an enthusiastic referral. The story offers no new, additional content, though what is there does a good job of continuing Ryus saga. There are no cooperative opportunities for multiplayer fans. Some of the ports more technical aspects feel as though they were handled improperly. I couldnt help thinking a lot of the gripes couldve easily been caught during testing. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus could be a better product than it was."

Over the years since Ninja Gaidens Xbox revival the public and critical reception that series has received has been somewhat like a yo-yo. Initially finding acclaim thanks to its harsh learning curve and dynamic, violent action sequences it wasnt long until the tendency to readdress and repackage existing software was criticised as little being more than an effort to spin a quick buck. The comprehensive quality of the PlayStation 3s revision of Ninja Gaiden 2 soon hushed those naysayers, but then came Ninja Gaiden 3 and the unfairly harsh commentary of Team NINJA following the departure of a key figure from their team.

Those darn ninja clones!
As the resident ninja on Game Revolution, I'm all for using ninja clones to distract enemies, but the Ninja Gaiden series is taking this to an extreme. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus is a port of a port; that is, an enhanced handheld clone of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, which is an enhanced clone of Ninja Gaiden II released nearly five years ago in 2008. Are we going to see a "Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus 2" on the PlayStation 4? Only Team Ninja knows the answer to that.
